How to convert milliliters to liters (ml to l)
The formula for converting milliliters to liters is: l = ml × 0.001. To calculate the milliliter value in liters first substitute the milliliter value into the preceding formula, and then perform the calculation. If we wanted to calculate 1 milliliter in liters we follow these steps:
l = ml × 0.001
l = 1 × 0.001
l = 0.001
In other words, 1 milliliter is equal to 0.001 liters.
Example Conversion
Let's take a look at an example. The step-by-step process to convert 3 milliliters to liters is:
- Understand the conversion formula: l = ml × 0.001
- Substitute the required value. In this case we substitute 3 for ml so the formula becomes: l = 3 × 0.001
- Calculate the result using the provided values. In our example the result is: 3 × 0.001 = 0.003 l
In summary, 3 milliliters is equal to 0.003 liters.
Converting liters to milliliters
In order to convert the other way around i.e. liters to milliliters, you would use the following formula: ml = l × 1000. To convert liters to milliliters first substitute the liter value into the above formula, and then execute the calculation. If we wanted to calculate 1 liter in milliliters we follow these steps:
ml = l × 1000
m1 = l × 1000
ml = 1000
Or in other words, 1 liter is equal to 1000 milliliters.
